Mildred “Mernie” Wallace
Peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound on Saturday, February 11, 2017. Mildred Almeron (Mernie) nee Parker of Owen Sound, in her 73rd year. Devoted and cherished wife of Douglas for over 51 years. Left to mourn is her son Parker of Kemble, cousin Russell Carson of Etobicoke, brothers-in-law Bob (Jean) of Palmerston, David (Marie) of Belgrave and Harold (Ann) of Ayr, nieces, nephews and many devoted friends. Predeceased by her parents Winston and Ivey Parker, brother-in-law Stewart and sisters-in-law Verna and Margaret. Mernie’s gift was her first career in dentistry for 25 years where she became President of the Ontario Dental Nurses and Assistants in 1989. Following dentistry she worked in retail at the Seagull for 18 years. Mernie loved meeting people. At Mernie’s request there will be no funeral. Cremation. A private family memorial will be held later. Thanks to GBHS ICU and the support staff. Memorial donations to the Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
