Karen Braithwaite

With family by her side, on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Owen Sound Hospital, Karen Braithwaite (nee Armstrong), died at the age of 65 after a hard-fought battle with cancer.  Karen was a loving mother to Andrea Braithwaite and Colin Braithwaite; devoted sister to Diane, Mike, and Scott Armstrong; and spouse and best friend to Donald Braithwaite.  We take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her parents Vera and Bill Armstrong, her sister Janice Armstrong, and her brother Bob Armstrong. A dedicated and tireless educator and a woman of many hobbies, crafts, and interests, Karen also leaves behind a circle of fantastic friends whose help in the face of life’s challenges is much appreciated.  The cookie and cake maker extraordinaire, queen of the kitchen, garden diva, princess of pickles and preserves, Karen will always be remembered for her generosity and laughter.  Her smile, her care, and her concern will be eternally missed. At Karen’s request, a celebration of her well-lived life will be held in the spring at the Owen Sound Legion and will be announced at a later date.  With gratitude for the wonderful staff and care, donations can be made in Karen’s name to the Owen Sound Hospital Foundation.
