Gwen Stewart

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Gwenfrydd Joyce Stewart (Pearce) on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the age of 85 years. Loving and devoted wife for over 65 years to William (Bill) J.D. Stewart, Oliphant, Ontario. Mother of Sandra (Andrew Kneisel), New Hamburg, and William, Victoria, B.C.  Grandmother to Michael Odhiambo, Kitchener.  Survived by sisters, Evonne (John deceased) MacPherson, Vancouver, B.C. and Lilajean (Bill deceased) Hemstock, Edmonton, AB, and brother, Charles (Judy) Pearce, Grand Rapids, MI.  Born in Bruce County, she met Bill in Port Elgin working at the bank. After moving around Ontario, they settled in Kitchener where she became involved with many service organizations including the Girl Guides, Kinettes and K-W Oktoberfest. She loved to travel and enjoyed visits with her life-long pen pal from England. She enjoyed spending winters in Port Charlotte, Florida and Parkside, B.C. She enjoyed her bridge game and working on her master points. She was a great reader. Cremation has taken place. As per her wishes, there will be no memorial service.
