Sheila Lis
At Gateway Haven Monday afternoon, December 10, 2018, with her family near, Sheila quietly left us at the age of 88.
Her husband Frank (Waclaw) will miss her dearly, as will her daughters Teresa Hurley (Tom) and Anita Taylor (Wayne), and her son Rob (Chris). She was so proud of her grandsons Joe Hurley (Vicki), Tim Hurley (Kathleen), and Matt Hurley (Nicole), as well as great grandsons Dylan and Carter. She often talked fondly of her younger sister Barbara (David) Jay in England, and her older sister Jean (John) Thomas, who predeceased her, as well as their children and grandchildren. She will also be missed by many Lis family members.
Sheila’s family is grateful for the kindness of so many who have helped over the last couple of years. Rachael McCartney, who helped Sheila feel safe and happy; the caring staff at Gateway Haven; Dr. Van Dorp, for his kind clarity in the difficult moments; Dr. Siddiqi and the staff on 6-1 for their care; Dr. Robertson for helping her stay well for as long as she could; and all our friends for their support and understanding.
A celebration of life will be planned in the new year. If you wish, in memory of Sheila, donations may be made to the Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation (www.oshfoundation.ca).
