Vern Ruland

Vern passed away peacefully at home on May 16, 2019 at 80 years of age with his family at his side.  He is survived by his wife Carol and son Bill and his wife Angie.  Also survived by his cousin Joyce Hundt and nieces Pat, Joann and Karen. Proud grampa to William Jones, his brother Darcy Jones and sister Joss Russell-Taylor.  Predeceased by his father William Ruland, mother Lavina Ruland (Seim), brother Carl Ruland and sister Verna Ruland.  Originally from Kitchener he spent most of his years on the Bruce Peninsula at Pike Bay and lastly at his hobby farm at Barrow Bay. He lived life to the fullest. He rode horses and spent time riding Broncs and Bulls. Vern and Carol traveled the country sea to sea and kept a trailer at Cape Croker where they spent many happy summers.  The family would like to extend thanks to Dr Appelton and the VON whose enormous help let us fulfill his wish to stay at home till the end.  At his request there will not be a funeral at this time.
