Gordon (Hezzy) Walmsley
Passed away surrounded by his family at the Owen Sound Hospital on Wednesday, August 21, 2019. Gord Walmsley of Southampton at 82 years of age. Gord was a P.U.C. Lineman for the Town of Southampton, employee of Bruce Power, carpenter and assisted Liz with her business. Gord was a volunteer firefighter with the Southampton Fire Department. Gord thoroughly enjoyed hockey and played for the Owen Sound Greys. Loving husband of Liz (McVittie) for 57 years. Proud father of Larry (Andria), Steven (Michelle), Jayne and Brian (Janine). Cherished grandpa of Alexander, Nicholas, Noah, Jack and Evan. Also survived by his brother Verton (Marion) Walmsley, sister Audrey Lamont, sisters-in-law Elva Walmsley and Maggie Walmsley and brother-in-law Joe Schneidhofer. Proud uncle to 26 nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Charles and Irene, brothers Clayton, Lorne and Howard, sister Ruby, brother-in-law Wilmer, niece Lori and nephew Michael. Cremation has taken place. A Come and Go Celebration of Gord’s Life will be held at McVittie Acres, 460 Doll Sideroad, Southampton on Saturday, September 14th from 2 – 5 p.m. Memorial donations to the Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation or the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
