Tim Woods

Son, brother, twin, husband, father, teacher, coach, teammate, colleague, friend, mentor. Not one word or obituary can summarize a man as great as Tim Woods.  In May of 2020 Tim was diagnosed with a treatable but aggressive cancer. Since then, he has only received bad news in regard to treatment. Shortly after Christmas, Tim received the worst news of all, no more options. He spent his final week in palliative care in the Owen Sound hospital, with his wife Sue, and his two children Rachel and Jesse. January 3, 2021 Tim lost his battle to cancer.  At age 53, he is being remembered by so many. He is leaving behind what appears to be an army. He will be dearly missed by his family (Woods, Hopkins, Miner, Scales), his friends, his colleagues (T.L. Woods Contracting, OSCVI, Pine Hill, OSDSS), and all of his students over the years. He was a man you could find building houses, fishing with his son, riding his motorcycle, playing hockey/lacrosse/baseball, drinking Bud light Lime, planting trees, coaching, or driving his daughter all over the country to play ringette. Those are only some of his favourite things, the list truly does not end there.  Since Tim’s diagnosis in May of 2020, he has been surrounded by, as mentioned before, an army. He has been so fortunate and so appreciative of the generosity of others. On behalf of Tim, we want to thank all those who have dropped off cards & food. There are no words to express the gratitude we have during this time. If anyone desired to make any further donations, Tim wanted them to go to the Canadian Cancer Society, in the hopes that progress can be made towards a cure.  Due to COVID-19 and the regulations in place, Tim requested that for the safety of his family and friends, his life was to be celebrated at a later date. For the last 9 months Tim has been in the care of many health care professionals. We especially want to thank the doctors and nurses at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, and the team of doctors and nurses that he was fortunate enough to have here at the Owen Sound Hospital. To put it as bluntly as possible, he was too young, too loved and had too many unfinished projects. Tell the people you love, just how much you love them.
