Forever remembered by grandchildren, Sara (Ian) Crook, Stan (Isabella)and Becca McElroy, Madeline and Elliott Leslie and Andrew and Rachel Leslie. Proud ‘Old Poppa’ to great-grandsons Jake, Charlie and Sam. Jack will be deeply missed by his devoted brother Don of St. Mary’s and many adoring nieces and nephews.
Reunited with his first love, cherished Mother of his children, Madge Joanne (Noble), parents Ruth and Earl Leslie, brother William, sisters Dorothy, Kay, Ruth, Grace and Helen.
Jack was born in St. Mary’s, Ontario and was to his core, a Stonetown boy. He began his career at Domtar in the late 60’s and moved to Bird Packaging in 1987. He retired after 40+ years in the corrugated industry after mentoring and guiding many sales people along the way. Jack and Madge enjoyed many summers at their cottage in Red Bay surrounded by their Grandchildren, making memories that are held close to this day.
Jack was known as Coach by so many, whether it was in his field of sales, on the ice or behind
the plate. He dedicated thousands of hours to Waterloo Minor Hockey and Men’s Fastball teams. One of Jack’s proudest moments was donning his #19 jersey for the St. Mary’s Lincolns as his Father was a founding father of the team.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation and gratitude to the angels at Chapman House. Every RN, DR, RPN, PSW, Volunteer, and staff that interacted with Dad was an absolute gift. We are forever grateful for their comfort and guidance.
Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at Parkview Cemetery. Please join us on Saturday, October 23rd, 2021, 1-4 pm, Waterloo Police Association, 1128 Rife Road, Cambridge, and share your memories. Toasts and tributes will commence at 2:00 pm. Along the road to yesterday, That leads me back to you,
Are memories of the happy days, Together we once knew.
And always every evening, I seem to have a way,
Of wandering back to meet you On the road to yesterday.
