Kristy Dawn Crosby (nee Keeping) age 44, passed away suddenly at Owen Sound Hospital on Tuesday April 19, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on February 17, 1978, Kristy is the treasured daughter of Brian and Margaret Keeping of Woodstock Ontario. Kristy will be forever missed by her husband, Andrew and her cherished son Max. She is survived by her brother Rob (Michelle) and Derek (Stephanie), father and mother-in-law John and Jill Crosby, brothers-in-law Stephen and James (Megan), and many aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews. She had an intense love for her family and friends and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Affectionately known as “Bunny,” she met her husband Andrew at Camp Celtic in Lion’s Head when they were counselors. It is here where the seeds of becoming an educator were sown and life-long friendships were made. Whether it was running the youth program aboard a cruise ship, teaching overseas, or more recently in Owen Sound, Kristy was never happier in her professional life than being in the classroom. She graduated from the University of Guelph, was constantly taking courses, and was tremendously proud of her recent Masters of Education Degree from Medaille University where she graduated with honors.  She was a gifted teacher, her students adored her and she made a positive impact on so many young lives in so many ways.

Kristy’s life was filled with an exuberant passion for fun and adventure. She lived for planning trips, traveling, camping with friends and family and summers at the cottage on Georgian Bay. Her gracious nature and unique personality brought about many special moments and occasions with family, friends, co-workers and strangers alike. To know her was to love her.

Kristy and her husband Andrew shared an extraordinary relationship, as best friends and soulmates and the true meaning of love within a partnership. Kristy’s love for her son Max was undeniable and together the three of them shared an enthusiasm for adventure, games, travel and life in general.

Kristy was tenacious. Giving up or giving in were not in her DNA. This was most evident during her challenging cancer journey this past year. She made the most out of every single day and inspired everyone who knew her with her positive and determined attitude.

The family is deeply appreciative to extended family and friends for their encouragement and support. They mustered around her. She knew she was loved and she was deeply grateful and touched by their generous displays of kindness and compassion.

Kristy received excellent medical care from Dr. M. Vincent and Dr. J. Laba at the London Cancer Centre, Dr. C. Murphy, the IDA pharmacy staff in Meaford and for her incredible and caring nurses, Carrie and Glenna from Care Partners who provided care in her home.

Kristy was selfless, full of life, and always put others first. She was fun loving, outgoing and vivacious. Beautiful, both inside and out, she was an example to so many and a shining light to all who knew her. When you think of Kristy, celebrate the good memories you have of her. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest. She will be missed more than any words could express but she will be forever in our hearts.

There will be a private celebration of life in Woodstock on Sunday May 8th in Kristy’s honor. If desired, please consider memorial donations to the London Health Sciences Foundation, c/o Cancer Program, www.lhsf.ca or the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, www.thepmcf.ca/donate/.

She burned so brightly and brought joy and love to everyone she met. If you had the privilege of meeting “Bunny” you were a better person for it.

Memories and condolences may be left at www.greybrucecremation.com.

We love you 600.
