Veryl Gibbons
On the morning of November 5th, 2022, Veryl Gibbons, peacefully and with such grace, passed away at the age of 82 at Saugeen Memorial Hospital in Southampton. By her side was her loving daughter Wendy Quirk and dear family friend Sue Ouellette.
She will be remembered as a caring mother to Wendy (George). Veryl, or better known as “The Granny”, she was a devoted grandmother to her grandsons Cameron Quirk and Patrick Quirk, who she loved and supported unconditionally.
Predeceased by her life partner William Shrider, parents Edgar and Margret Ward, William’s mother Mabel Shrider, sister Louann Harcourt and nephew Andrew Uhrig. She will also be fondly remembered by her sister Gwen Harron, nieces Sandy Harron and Tracey Harron, nephew Brad Harron (Pam), and each of their children. Her humour and love will live on in the hearts of the Shrider, Quirk and Tam extended families.
Veryl will be sadly missed by her many friends during her life and the caregivers at Elgin Lodge. Our family gives thanks to her dearest friend Elaine Palmer, Dr. Khan and the hospital staff.
Cremation has taken place, and a private celebration of life will take place at Tiverton Cemetery in the spring. Memorial donations to Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation, Canadian Red Cross or Canadian Blood Services would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
