Bryan (Barney) Speer

Bryan (Barney) Albert Speer, passed away peacefully after a period of illness due to renal failure, while his son Nathan held his hand, in Wiarton, Ontario on Monday April 10, 2023, at the age of 71. It was truly incredible that both his sons were able to say goodbye.  Beloved father of Nathan (Jennifer) and Michael (Kayla).  Grandfather of Mike’s two boys, Luke and Levi.  Survived by siblings Kathy Barratt, Bradley, Louise Nichol and Pat.  Uncle of many nieces and nephews.  Best friend of Ron Wark and he will be missed by the many friends he formed in Wiarton. Predeceased by his parents Fred Speer and Isabelle (King) Speer and his older brothers David, Burt and Jim.  Barney was a great cook, an awesome Santa Claus (his favourite job) and a certified machinist.  Thank you to the wonderful staff at the Wiarton Hospital and to Dr Grigg for her compassionate care and understanding.  As per Barney’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral.  Condolences may be expressed online at Grey Bruce Cremation and Burial Services, www.greybrucecremation.com.
