Gerard “Joe” Lalonde

On the morning of October 29th, 2022, Gerard Lalonde, or “Joe” as he was known to everyone, peacefully left this world at the age of 91 to reunite in heaven with his soulmate Beulah, who pre-deceased him just 7 months prior.

Joe was born to Ferdinand Lalonde and Marie-Jeanne (Richer) on April 11, 1931 in Coniston, Ontario. He leaves behind his cherished 5 boys Norm (Karen), Mickey (Lise), Randy (Karen), Guy (Celeste) and Brian (Tracy).

Joe is also survived by his sister Bertha (Rheal) and his youngest brother Louis (Joan) and pre-deceased by 5 brothers Ulric (Anita), Armand (Dorothy), Romeo (infant), Maurice (Cecile), Raoul (Dorice), and 7 sisters Fidele (Primo), Mona (Ontario), Arzanda (infant), Fern (Ilario), Claire (Joseph), Rose-Anne (Louis) and Ester (Aldo).

An active member in his community, Joe’s trade skills were constantly in demand as he could never say no to helping someone in need of a handyman or help in any way. This quiet, humble, kind and true gentleman was also a sports enthusiast, especially the ones his boys were involved in. He encouraged maximum effort, win or lose, and that was the way he approached all life tasks: never leaving a job unfinished and always completing them to the highest standards.

Since the passing of his beloved wife Beulah, Joe had relocated to Port Elgin, Ontario and was greatly enjoying his new home and surroundings at the Elgin Lodge. Never a day passed that he wasn’t outside taking in the fresh air on long scooter rides or just sitting with a few residents on one of the patios. He only wished that Beulah could have shared at least some of his new adventure with him.

Joe will be missed by his 12 grandchildren, their spouses and 19 great grandchildren. Dad, your memory will go on and drive us forward every single day!

YOU SAID IT WITH YOUR EYEBROWS
