At Lee Manor, Owen Sound, John passed away peacefully in his 100th year.  John was born in Brantford, Ontario, but his life took him to Oakville, Walkerton, Campbellville, Toronto and Owen Sound.  He was a proud RCAF pilot in WW2 and later a private pilot, bush pilot and glider pilot before a career in industrial sales.  In his retirement he enjoyed travel, cross country skiing, swimming and golf, as well as volunteer work with Big Brothers, Kinsman, Kiwanis Club, Golden K’s, Meals on Wheels and Owen Sound Hospital.  He is predeceased by his sister Nancy Baillie and brother Peter C. Newton, as well as wives Marilyn Heintzman Newton, Kathleen Quarmby Newton and Jean Liddell Newton.  John is survived by his loving wife Helen Maxwell Newton, stepdaughter Karen (Andy) Drury and daughters Margot “Tan” (the late John) Williamson (Bob Kirkwood) and Dianne Alexander (the late Richard).  He was proud grandfather to Robin, Blaire (Jeremy) and Kelly (Chad).  Great grandfather to Alina, Max, Jack, Nickolas and Nathan.  John will be fondly remembered by nieces, nephews and many friends over the years.  The family extends our thanks to the wonderful staff who cared for John with kindness and compassion at Lee Manor.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Owen Sound Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.  Private family arrangements have been entrusted to Grey Bruce Cremation and Burial Services, www.greybrucecremation.com.

Condolences for John Graham Newton
