Betty Mitchell

May 20, 1942 – July 15, 2023

Betty Jane Mitchell (nee Hicks) of Owen Sound passed away peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services, Wiarton with her daughter Toni by her side.  Wife of Clifford Mitchell.  Loving mother of Toni (Mark Middleton), Trudy, Vickie Bruce (Dale), Michelle Vezeau, Steve Rosenburg (Sue) and Heather Crannie (Tim).  Proud grandma of 13 and great grandma of 16.  Sister of Gloria McKenzie and Bill Hicks and sister-in-law of Darlene Brown and Sandra Mitchell Smart.  Also missed by her feline friend, Girlie, and feathered friend, Moonie.  Predeceased by her parents John and Eva (nee Dean) Hicks, her brother Doug Hicks and great granddaughter Mackenzie Jobb.  Special thanks to her neighbour Brenda Siegrist and also to the staff and Dr. Diodati at the Wiarton Hospital for their care and compassion given to Betty during her stay.  Cremation has taken place.  A private family graveside service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held at a later date.  Memorial donations may be made to the Bruce Peninsula Hospitals Foundation (Wiarton Hospital).  Arrangements entrusted to Grey Bruce Cremation and Burial Services, www.greybrucecremation.com.
