Alma MacPherson
Mary Alma (Wadden) MacPherson, 76, of Port Elgin, passed away on October 27, 2023 after a brief illness. Alma, daughter to Phyllis (Robinson) and Gordon Wadden, grew up in Port Morien, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. She was one of eight children (Joyce, Delores, Gordon “Buddy”, Mora, Phyllis, Wayne and Muriel) and always had fond memories of visiting her siblings during summer trips to Nova Scotia. They were a fun group who loved kitchen parties and laughing until your sides hurt. She relocated to Port Elgin, Ontario in 1975 when her husband Winston Cameron MacPherson (predeceased) started working for Ontario Hydro. Alma loved and appreciated raising her family in such a beautiful town. Alma is survived by her four children; John MacPherson of Waterloo, Tracey MacPherson of Belleville, Kim (MacPherson) Lewis of Scottsdale, AZ and Shawn MacPherson of Port Elgin. She was a loving grandmother to six grandchildren and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them, proudly cheering at all of their sporting events. A private ceremony will be held in Cape Breton during the summer of 2024. A big thank you to all of the staff at Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre in Owen Sound (4th floor team rocks!) and Chapman House for being so kind and compassionate. “Touch not the cat but a glove”. #fcancer! Arrangements entrusted to Grey Bruce Cremation and Burial Services.
