1930 – 2024
Joy Pamela Irvine died peacefully at the age of 94 at Brightshores Health Services on November 1st, 2024. She leaves behind a family immeasurably enriched by her love of life. Beloved mother to Roxanne, Chris (Katie VanAlphen) and children Maya and Theo (Kelsey), and Andy (Lisa Craddock) and children Chantelle (Eric), Jeremy (Cassie), and Ty. Great grandchildren Nora, Bo, Max and Edie. Predeceased by husband Robert Irvine and son Nicholas. Joy had a remarkable passion for life that encompassed sailing, the great outdoors, music, art and an unwavering love for her family and friends. Alongside her beloved husband of 65 years, Bob, she spent many summers aboard their cherished sailboat, Big Red, navigating the waters of Georgian Bay and Killarney, where they later established their final home. She earned her degree at Western University while raising her family, eventually becoming a Professor of Accounting at Georgian College. Her commitment to education inspired countless students. Whether it was sharing a good martini with friends or dancing the night away, her laughter and love of connection were the heart of every gathering. Cremation has taken place, with a family celebration of life to be held at a later date. Donations to be made in her honor to Brightshores Health Services or charity of their choice would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Grey Bruce Cremation and Burial Services.
