Eric James Sample

September 14, 1983 – October 24, 2024

Eric, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend who left us too soon. Eric’s sudden passing has left a profound void in our lives, but we are grateful for the time we shared with him.

He is survived by his devoted parents, Lyla and Bill, his brothers Bob and Jeff , his sisters-in-law Annette and Amanda and his cherished nieces, Megan, Kate, and Leah. Eric’s warmth and kindness touched the hearts of all who knew him. He was a gentle, giving, and fun-loving soul who brought joy to everyone around him.

After a childhood filled with friends and sports, Eric graduated from Seneca College with a degree in fire suppression design. He quickly found work in Los Angeles, and later in San Francisco, contributing to both large and small projects. Eric’s outgoing nature and gift for making friends allowed him to embrace life to the fullest. In his free time, he enjoyed rock climbing, surfing, hiking in Yosemite, snowboarding at Mammoth Mountain, and even running a marathon in Barcelona, Spain. A few years ago, he returned home to Canada to be closer to family, where he became a beloved uncle to his nieces. Eric will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all those whose lives he touched.
