Joan Hillis

July 27, 1941 – January 1, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Hillis on January 1, 2025 at Brightshores Hospital, Owen Sound.  A longtime resident of Owen Sound, Joan’s kindness and love enriched the lives of all who knew her.

Joan was a beloved member of her community and will be remembered for singing in the choir, being a kind individual and loving her cats with all of her heart.

Joan is survived by her children, Jim (Faye), Kim (Al), Kelly (Jeff), Monica and Mark (Liz).  She is also lovingly remembered by her brother Keith (Marilyn) Taylor, her sister Lyn (Bill) Baker and granddaughter Jessie (Corry), who provided care and support to Joan towards the end of her life.  Joan was blessed with many grandchildren who brought her joy.  She was preceded in death by her parents George and Hazel Taylor, brothers Bill and Gord and son-in-law Bruce.

At Joan’s request, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Joan will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends and community.  Her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.
