Robert MacPherson

Robert Malcolm MacPherson, of Durham, in his 70th year, passed away on February 18, 2025, at the Hanover and District Hospital after a courageous 4-year battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; son, Thomas; stepfather, John; mother-in-law, Margaret Boldt; brother-in-law, James Boldt; former wife, Cindy Miller; niece, Melissa; great-niece, Lyra; great-nephew, Noah; brother-in-law, Brian and his wife, Hilda Boldt; and sister-in-law, Alice and her husband, David Cook. Robert was predeceased by his mother, Doris Haggarty (née Hodge); father-in-law, Milt Boldt; aunt and uncle, Winifred Webb and her husband, Ken; Reginald Hodge and his wife, Thelma; as well as cousins Joan Huggins, Norm Webb. Survived by Keith Webb, and his wife, Wendy; Mark Huggins; and Janice and Tom Mossa.
Rob lived in Durham and worked at Interforest and Durham Furniture. He also volunteered as a driver for Home and Community Support Services for 15 years. Rob was known for being non-judgmental, kind, and always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed chatting with friends and neighbours, making him a beloved part of his community. He will be greatly missed by his dog, Eddie, as well as many neighbours and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Durham on Saturday, March 8, 2025, with a condolence line at 10:30 a.m. and a service at 11:00 a.m. Lunch will follow. Donations may be made to Community Living Owen Sound and District, Brightshores Owen Sound Heath System Foundation (Cancer Centre), Hanover and District Hospital Foundation (Emergency Department), or a charity of choice.
