It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Russell David Hornseth, who passed away on Saturday April 8, 2023 at the age of 75 at the Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre, with his loving family by his side.  He is the loving husband and best friend of Heather Irvine. Loving father of Richard and his wife Lisa. Proud Grandpa of Presley and Kendall.  Special stepfather of Kiley Irvine and her fiancé Bryan Higgins. Step Grandpa of Jaxon.  Brother of Robert and his wife Lynda. Uncle to three and great uncle to six.  Russ is a very special brother-in-law to Lyndia Proulx and her husband Sylvain Burns.  Predeceased by his parents Carl and Hilda and wife Kim Proulx.  Russ was born in Humboldt, Sask. and grew up in Kandahar, Sask.  He was always proud to tell people that.  In 1967 he joined the RCMP. He had several postings across western Canada and made many lifelong friends. In 1971 – 1972 he was on the RCMP Musical Ride.  He retired in 1988 and moved to Chatsworth, Ontario. He was a Life Member and a Past President of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 464, Chatsworth.   Russ will be remembered as a man of few words, but when he had something to say, he made it count!  He was a true legend and will be missed by many.  In keeping with Russ’ wishes, cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Russ’ Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 464, Chatsworth on Saturday, June 10, 2023 from 2 – 4 p.m.  Legion Service at 1 p.m.   Donations to the Alzheimer Society of Grey-Bruce or Chapman House would be appreciated.  Messages of condolences can be sent to the family online at www.greybrucecremation.com.
