Ester Crompton

June 9, 1932 – March 4, 2025

It is with sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Ester June Crompton (nee McKnight) at the Owen Sound Hospital surrounded by her family at the age of 92. She is predeceased by her parents, Edwin and Margaret McKnight, her husband of 66 years Donald (2018), her beloved son Kirk (2023) and her siblings, Douglas McKnight, Katherine Magee, and Margaret Mosher. She leaves behind her daughter, Kimberley (Robert) McClevis, her grandchildren Aubrey (Joe Corner) Crompton, Caitlin (Steve) Pezzaniti, Keenan (Ashley Russell) McClevis, and Logan (Enia Dhoska) McClevis, great grandchildren, Carter, Delia, Wyatt, Jacob, Lucas and Millie. She also will be fondly remembered by her numerous nieces and nephews.

Ester was born and raised in Galt, Ontario, moving to Dundas, Ontario to begin her married life where she spent over 70 years. Throughout her life she wore many hats in her working life from bookkeeper to bank teller and in her later years a Registered Nurses Aide. Her pride and joy were her family, her home and many many four-legged companions. She was a lifelong member of the Anglican Church, taking part in the ACW and Altar Guild. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the Wentworth Lodge.

A special thank you to Dr. Siddiqi, Dr. Batten and Nurse Janine (6th floor) of Owen Sound Hospital for their kind, compassionate care in Ester’s final days.
