Brenda Durst

On July 18, 2025 in her 70th year, surrounded by family in her home and after a year long battle with cancer. Brenda is missed by her husband of 51 years, Doug Durst, her son Jeremy and daughter-in-law Lana, her daughter Felicia and partner David, her treasured grandchildren Jackson and Sophie Durst, her mother Agnes Beresford-King, brothers and sisters Jackie (Don) Karn, Michele (Kenny) Hunt, Brian (Lori) Beresford, and Jeff Beresford, and in-laws Colleen (Cam) Manning, Mike (Marion) Durst, Peter (Lise) Durst, Leanne (Rob) Broughton and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father William Jr. (Brownie) and her brother Wayne Beresford.

Brenda was born in Hanover and spent most of her life living in Walkerton where she and Doug were active and well known in the community. In the last five years Doug and Brenda became part of another community in Florida where they spent winters in their RV. She will be missed by her close friends Janice and Tim Hawkins, her many golf partners and friends near and far.

Cremation has taken place and a private interment will take place at a later date. A public drop in celebration of life will be held at the Walkerton Golf and Curling Club on Monday, August 25th from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Saugeen Hospice (saugeenhospice.ca).
