Heather O’Connor

Heather O’Connor (née Darling) passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband John, niece Amy Darling and friends Lesley Wilson and Joanne Blackshaw at Brightshores Health System, Owen Sound on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at the age of 76. Beloved wife of John O’Connor for 40 years. Loving stepmother of Victor (Catherine), Derek (Cheryl), Rodney (Denise) and the late Adrian (Iseult). Dear step grandmother of Rory, Gabriella, Felix and Lola and step great grandmother of Odin. Also survived by her brother Morris Darling of Peterborough, nieces Amy, Ann and Jane and nephew Colin. Predeceased by her husband Gordon Oakley and parents Thomas and Edna Darling.

Heather had a long and dedicated nursing career as a kind and compassionate professional in London, Brampton, Golden BC and Owen Sound. She was a selfless, caring woman with a gentle demeanor and a heart full of love and laughter. Gardens were her place to be and reflected her personality with the colour of life on a canvas that continually changed, as she did. Heather will be in all our blue Hydrangeas forever – and a day.
