Dorothy Willette
Dorothy Mae Willette passed away peacefully at Southbridge Nursing Home in Owen Sound on March 8, 2026. Born in Dunnville on April 28, 1935. Dorothy Willette (Jackson) formerly of Collingwood was in her 91st year.
Loving mother of Richard (Karen) and Lawrence (Janet) both of Collingwood and Mike (Tracey) of Owen Sound. Grandmother of Andrea (Shawn) Boyd, Darrick (Krista), Shawn (Manda) and Tyler (Brittany). Great grandma to Andrew (Brittany), Rachel, Colton, Hunter, Taylor, Bristol and Bowen. Great-great grandma to Hayden. Dear sister of Ruth Geise of Dunnville. Predeceased by her husband Lauire Willette (1999), parents Arthur and Dorothy Jackson and great grandson Brandon Willette.
Dorothy worked at Bendix in Collingwood up until it closed. In her younger years she was an avid bowler. She was on the lady’s auxiliary for Collingwood Minor Hockey. Dorothy volunteered weekly for over 20 years at Bay Haven Nursing Home in Collingwood. Dorothy was a member of the Collingwood Leisure Time Club where she enjoyed playing Euchre and bid Euchre. She enjoyed taking bus trips with her friends to Niagara Falls and Casino Rama. She enjoyed bingo, church services and many activities at Southbridge. Dorothy often told us that she had a good life. Reminiscing about trips in their motorhome and antique car shows.
As per Dorothy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Grey Bruce Cremation and Burial Services, greybrucecremation.com.
