Gizella Edwards

On Friday, February 27, 2026 at 1:55 p.m., Gizella Edwards (nee Adorjan), passed away comfortably at Southampton Care Centre after a short battle with a respiratory illness, at the age of 81 (5 months shy of her 82nd birthday), with her daughter at her side.

She will be missed by her brother Charles Adorjan (Gabi), her nephew Mike Adorjan (April, Ash and Logan), nieces Kathy Adorjan (Chuck) and Julia Adorjan (Riz) and her daughter, Christina Edwards (Steve). Predeceased by her parents, Magda and Charles Adorjan, her husband Neville Edwards and her beloved cat, Muffin.

A complicated woman, her heart was big, and her love was fierce. Her last few years were spent comfortably at Southampton Care Centre, cared for by some of the best humans around.

Gizella’s celebration of life (non-denominational) will be held on Sunday, March 29th at 3 p.m. at Southampton United Church. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Grey-Bruce, R&R Rescue or the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter in lieu of flowers.
