Janet Lackey

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Janet Rose Lackey on May 23, 2026 in Hanover, Ontario. Born in Ottawa on March 11, 1959 to loving parents the late Bob and Elva (nee McFall) Lackey. Jan will be remembered for her warm smile and generous nature, always showing a genuine care for others. Her compassion, kindness and willingness to help others leaves a lasting impact on all who knew her. Family was at the heart of everything Jan did. Whether it was sharing stories from years gone by or offering quiet encouragement, many memories were created and will be treasured for generations. Deeply missed by siblings Bob (Joy) Lackey, Pat (Nancy) Lackey, Kathryn (James) Blanchard. Loving Aunt and Great-Aunt to many nieces, nephew and great-nephews, as well as many cousins each whom held a special place in her heart. Devoted love-of-her-life partner, best friend and soulmate of Laurie. It was love at first sight and one did not often see one without each other. Cherished Mum who brought so much light and joy to Melissa (John) Trace and Matthew Judge. Wholeheartedly embraced her role of Gran to Morgan and Chelsea Trace, her presence will be forever missed, her love and wisdom will stay with them always. Jan’s final act of kindness was to give the gift of sight to someone needing organ donation.
