Margaret Dixon

March 29, 1964 – August 30, 2026

Margaret Frances Dixon of Owen Sound passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Brightshores Health System, with her loving family by her side. Born March 29, 1964, in Toronto, Margaret was in her 63rd year.

Margaret was the dearly loved mother of Ashley Boucher (Dean Boucher) of Owen Sound and Kirsten Arcaya (Ian Arcaya) of Toronto. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Jasmine Boucher and Tavia Nuttall.

She was the dear sister of Florence Cruickshank, whom Margaret loved deeply and held close to her heart right until the very end. She made sure Florence knew just how much she loved her.

Margaret was also a caring aunt to Christopher Cruickshank, Johnathan Cruickshank (Brooke), and Katherine Cruickshank (Ryan Kirk).

She will be missed more deeply than words could ever express by her beloved best friend, Kim Smalley. Margaret and Kim shared 40 beautiful years of friendship, love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Through so many chapters of life, they remained by each other’s side, creating a friendship that was truly something special.

Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Grace Dixon; her precious granddaughter, Hayley Nuttall; and her brother-in-law, Stephen Cruickshank.

Margaret was loved by so many who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a wonderful soul and a kind heart, and there was nowhere she would rather be than surrounded by the family and friends she loved.

She could also be wonderfully peculiar at times — something those closest to her knew well and loved about her. Those little quirks were simply part of what made Margaret Margaret, and we wouldn’t have wanted her any other way.

To her family, Margaret was so much more than words can describe. She was one of our greatest loves, our safe place, and one of the beats in the heart of our family. With her gone, we can already feel the skip in that heartbeat.

We are grateful for every moment we were given with her, every memory we made, every laugh we shared, and every bit of love she gave us. There truly are no words big enough to describe the loss of someone who meant so much.

Although we wish more than anything that we could have had more time, the love Margaret gave us did not leave with her. It lives on in her daughters, her grandchildren, her sister, her family, her friends, and in every person whose life was made a little better simply because she was part of it.

Her love will forever live in our hearts, and we will carry her with us every single day.

Margaret was deeply loved, and she will be deeply missed — always.

A celebration of life will be held in October and a date/time will be confirmed in the next couple of weeks.
