Donald Smith

May 20, 1934 – October 26, 2026

Don Smith passed away on Monday, October 26th in his 93rd year at Lee Manor.

Don was predeceased by his dearly beloved wife Donna (Middleton) of 61 years. Loving father of Rodger (Pam) of Owen Sound, Sharon Coville (Jack deceased) of Orangeville, Jeff (Kelly) of Owen Sound and Terri of Owen Sound. Proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Special uncle to Marie Leno and many nieces and nephews.

The last of his generation of his family. Predeceased by parents Blake and Florence, his brothers Charlie (Verda), Willie, Jim, Allan (Judy) and Jack (Connie) and sisters Dorothy Spencer (Duncan) and Florence Dickie (Ross).

Survived by in laws Pat and Derm Sweeney and Val and Brad Thompsett.

In his youth he sailed the great lakes on freighters. He had many stories to tell where he planted trees all over a beautiful area while working at the nursery. Even more stories to tell about his many years of driving truck, which he absolutely loved, and his numerous years at RBW Graphics until his retirement.

Don was a great friend to many and always ready to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed tinkering in his workshop and enjoyed Ainslie Woods Housing maintenance which kept him busy in his spare time.

A special thank you to the staff at Lee Manor where he enjoyed his last few years. He will be lovingly remembered by all that knew him.

As per Don’s request, he has been cremated and a private family burial in the spring to follow.
