February 8, 1932 – April 18, 2022

Passed away peacefully with dignity on her own terms on April 18, 2022 at the great age of 90 years. Mom passed while supported and surrounded by her loving family.  Mom is survived by two of her five children, Janet (Les) Cabell and Christine (Brad) Morrow.  She will be dearly missed by her six grandchildren Jennifer (Patrick) Cabell, Laura (Shane) Dilworth, Alysia Morrow, Jon (Sarah) Cabell, Danielle (Chris) Dilworth-Allen and Steve (Taryn) Morrow, and her three great grandsons Archer, Chase and Emmett. Loving aunt of Susan, Peter and Donald.  She was predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years Bob Dilworth (2019), who she missed dearly, and three of their children Joan (1961), Jo-Anne (1972) and John (2018).

Mom and Dad had great and interesting lives.  Through their lives they moved nine times and finally made Owen Sound their home.  Bob worked for Bell Canada for forty years and two of those years were in Saudi Arabia.  It was during this time that they were able to travel the world.  They loved to talk of their many experiences and travel.

Mom loved her gardens and spent many hours making them beautiful.  She had the best rose garden ever!  She loved to sew, knit and make crafts, which she sold at the Keady market one summer with her dear friend Lisa.  She shared Dad’s love of golf and curling.  She also worked tirelessly for Sleeping Children Around the World, Primates World Relief, Grandmothers to Grandmothers and was a member of the committee that started OSHaRE.  They were faithful members of St. George’s Anglican Church.  The one thing mom is most remembered for by her family and friends was her love to talk and learn.  If there was one thing she liked to talk about it was politics both Canadian and American!

She was so loved by her family and friends and will be missed deeply by many.  We love you forever and for always.

A Celebration (party) of Life for Barb and Bob will be held on Saturday, June 4th at Legacy Ridge Golf Club from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. with reflections at 1:00 p.m. Please join us to celebrate their wonderful lives and share happy stories and memories.  The family will gather at Mount Pleasant Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. to inter Barb’s, Bob’s and John’s ashes.

As an expression of sympathy donations to charities near and dear to Barb’s heart would be appreciated.  Chapman House, Juvenile Diabetes, St. George’s Anglican Church and those mentioned above. Online condolences may be made at www.greybrucecremation.com.
