Sandi Hogg
September 23, 1934 – October 1, 2022
The family of Sandi Hogg are saddened with the passing of a woman we all knew as “Grandma Summerfolk”. Sandi was very loved and respected in the Owen Sound community. Mom had many incredible accomplishments in her life which included going to school as a mature student to get her nursing RN Degree, she was the Head of Unicef for Ontario, she was a Real Estate Agent, she came close to getting her pilot’s license, she commentated for the Owen Sound Santa Claus Parade and her own Talk Show for the local TV station, she was the Head of Staff and Care for the first five years at Participation Lodge, she was “Volunteer of the Year” in Owen Sound for over 40 years at “Summerfolk” and the “Roxy Theatre” with the Owen Sound Little Theatre, she had a craft company called “Hoggs Hollow Handicrafts” as well as her own Footcare business.
The family would like to thank Sharon and the staff at St. Francis Place for her wonderful care, Summit Place Long Term Care and her dear friend Joan who went above and beyond while she was in the nursing home.
Sandi is survived by her 3 children, John Hogg (Jackie), Fred Hogg (Darlene) and Lynda Carnahan (Ted). Sandi is also survived by her loving 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Sandi was also like a 2nd Mom to Alison Watson and Jason Troy.
Mom had a love for life which included road tripping in her VW Westfalia Van and her warm heart and dear soul touched everyone she met. You will be greatly missed but the memories will live on. As per her request, there will not be a funeral. Arrangements entrusted to Grey Bruce Cremation and Burial Services, www.greybrucecremation.com.
