Siena De Bruyn

Siena De Bruyn (Ina to her friends), 91 years old, passed away June 11, 2023 in Owen Sound, Ontario. Born April 21, 1932, in Leiden, the Netherlands she immigrated to Canada in 1956.  Mom grew up on a rhododendron nursery in Boskoop, studied painting in her early teenage years and participated in Scouts. In her later teenage years she traveled throughout England as an au pair.  She loved gardens and gardening, surrounding herself with plants of one sort or another all her life. Lichens and mushrooms were of particular interest.  Ina was an avid naturalist and artist, creating works from her photographs in paint, clay and textiles. She always made sure to encourage her family’s creative pursuits.  For Mom, family was most important.  She is survived by her three children Rob van Deudekom (Laurena), Natalie Everitt (John), and Carolin Brooks (Marc), grandchildren Erin, Jordan, Jason, Stewart, Sean, Wendel and Forrest, and great grandchildren Juniper, Rowan and Benjamin.  Ina was a person the world needs more of.  She will be deeply missed.
