Meinhard (Mike) Stanecker
Passed away peacefully at the Hanover and District Hospital on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 in his 83rd year. Survived by his loving wife Roma (Helwig) of 58 years. Mike and Roma lived at their forever home at Lake Rosalind where they enjoyed the outdoors and nature and all of their gardens. Mike was predeceased by his parents Meinrad and Anna Stanecker of Germany and his in-laws Alfred and Eva Helwig of Neustadt. Remembered by his brother Wolfgang Stanecker and niece Anna and nephew Tobias all of Germany. Survived by sisters-in-law Pauline (Doug Reay) and Ruth Helwig and brothers-in-law Walter Helwig, Lorne Helwig (Katherine), Art Helwig (Dorothy) and Ken Helwig (Lorraine). Mike will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews who always enjoyed his humour and generosity. Predeceased by sisters-in-law Mary Anne (Helwig) Yenssen and Mabel Helwig and brother-in-law Art Yenssen. As per Mike’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. A Celebration of Mike’s Life will be held at a later date. Donations can be made in Mike’s memory to a charity of your choice.
