The Flight

Murray filed a flight plan on March 22, 2025, at 2220 hours with his arrival at the Southampton Hospital.

Departed from Southampton Airport (SOU) on board the helicopter Air Ornge. The destination Kitchener Waterloo Airport (YKF), for St Mary’s Cardiac Hospital.

The crew onboard consisted of Murray and his wife Cynthia (Cindy) two fantastic caring paramedics and pilots.

With brief stops at CCU and finally, ICU. Thank-you to the nurses & doctors for their compassion during this time.

It is with regret Murray took his final flight to beyond March 29, 2025 @ 2030hours

He leaves behind his wife Cynthia (Cindy) of 42 years, son Curtis and daughter Tamara (Brian) and two grandchildren Brooke and Jordan, his mother Gwen and four siblings Cynthia, Susan, Sandra and Alan.

Murray was born in Southampton and lived his entire life in Port Elgin. He grew up in the house moving business along side his father. His ability to operate most any piece of equipment whether it be home built or new. He loved rebuilding cars, especially his Camaro. Murray received his private pilot’s license at 16 years old and never looked back. Whether it was a family flight to a convention, letting sky divers jump out of the plane or flying grids on search and rescue, he loved the gift of flight. He was a member of Junior Farmers, and the family were members of the International Flying Farmers. Thru this organization he met the love of his life from Alberta and shared 46 years together. Together he raised two children, adored and spoiled two grandchildren, who were his world. Grandpa was their hero.
