David Bell, age 63, passed away on October 21, 2026, after a strong but brief fight with illness.

David was dedicated to his family above all else. A skilled woodworker, he took great pride in crafting custom furniture and handmade gifts for family members – especially at Christmas – always with care, passion, and quality. He was a devoted car enthusiast who cherished his 1977 Firebird, the first car he ever purchased, and kept it in immaculate condition throughout his life. Basketball was another joy; he and his son travelled across Canada and the United States to attend marquee games together. He spent more than 30 years working at what is now Bruce Power (having started before the company took that name). Even years after retiring, he remained passionate about his career and would readily engage in conversations about Bruce Power and nuclear reactors whenever the opportunity arose.

David is survived by his partner, Jennie Gresel; his son, Branton Bell, and Branton’s partner, Sarah; his stepdaughter, Alex, and her partner, Jack; his mother, Adeline Bell; his brother, Doug Bell; his uncle, Jay Dee; and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Douglas Bell, and his brother, Daniel Bell.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at the Best Western Inn on the Bay on Sunday, November 15, 2026 from 1 – 4 p.m.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Brightshores for their excellent care of David and their compassion toward everyone during this difficult time. Arrangements entrusted to Grey Bruce Cremation and Burial Services, greybrucecremation.com.

Condolences for David Bell
